Sayyaparaju is Sify's new CTO

Sify, internet, network and e-commerce services firm, has appointed Mr Bhaskar Sayyaparaju as its new Chief Technology Officer.

CHENNAI: Sify, internet, network and e-commerce services firm, has appointed Mr Bhaskar Sayyaparaju as its new Chief Technology Officer. Earlier, Mr Sayyaparaju was general manager of ServerEngines, a company founded by Sify’s present CEO & MD, Raju Vegesna.

Prior to that, Mr Sayyaparaju was the Director of Information Systems at Nvidia Corporation, a graphics chip maker based in Santa Clara. He has also held positions with Cidco and Handspring, the company said in a press statement.

Mr Sayyaparaju’s appointment follows the exit of some of the key members of Sify’s top management. He would be filling up the post of Mr Rustom Irani, who was Sify’s CTO earlier. Mr Irani had quit Sify last about the same time as R Ramaraj and Ajit Abraham, who were CEO and CHRO respectively.

“Mr Sayyaparaju was originally a member of our Technology Advisory Board, and brings with him many years of experience in technology leadership positions in the US. I am sure that he will add new perspectives and play a key role in growing Sify’s businesses in India and overseas,” Mr Vegesna said.

Mr Sayyaparaju said Sify’s technology team was well developed and mature processes and systems. “It will be my job to guide the team in building on what has been achieved in the past to take it to the next level,” he said.
