Route Mobile acquires competitor Cellent Technologies pre-IPO

MUMBAI: Route Mobile, a messaging and voice interface company (formerly RouteSMS), has acquired its 14-year-old competitor Cellent Technologies as part of its effort to size up before it files for its initial public offering, said the company chief Rajdip Gupta. The deal is expected to close by August 1.

The company is also in advanced talks with another strategic venture in Europe, which Route Mobile hopes to close before it files for public listing around September. ET had earlier reported Route Mobile was looking to raise Rs 500 crore through public listing. Cellent has 250 unique customers in Africa and Middle East and RouteSMS’ recent move to open offices in Emirates, Dubai is a precursor to milk synergies.
