Reliance Globalcom upgrades undersea cable networks

Anil Ambani group firm Reliance Globalcom (RGCom) on Wednesday said it has upgraded the broadband capacity of its undersea cable networks.

NEW DELHI: Anil Ambani group firm Reliance Globalcom (RGCom) on Wednesday said it has upgraded the broadband capacity of its undersea cable networks, which connect all the major regions of the world, to over 500 GB/second. An arm of Reliance Communications, RGCom has commercially launched the upgraded capacity on two cable routes— Flag Europe Asia (FEA) and FALCON Cable Systems — to over 500 GB, up four-fold, that will usher in a “bandwidth revolution”, the company said in a statement. The FEA route connects Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Far East.

The company covers the UK, West Asia, India, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and China on the eastward side.

Westwards, FALCON has connectivity with North Americas, the company said, adding that the two cable systems are the fastest growing bandwidth routes in the world. The two connect 23 countries and put RGcom in a position to offer high quality international internet connectivity, the company said.
