Quora is a question-and-answer platform where users can post questions to various topics, and receive answers from other users. Other users can then ‘upvote’ answers they think are good, or downvote them as well.
NEW DELHI: Quora is now available in Malayalam, Telugu, Gujarati and Kannada. The versions in these languages went live last week.

Quora is a question-and-answer platform where users can post questions to various topics, and receive answers from other users. Other users can then ‘upvote’ answers they think are good, or downvote them as well.

Launched in English in 2010, the platform has grown to reach more than 300 million unique visitors per month, according to the company. It is now available in a total of 24 languages. More than half of Quora’s visitors come from outside of the United States, said the company.


Speaking about the move, CEO of founder of Quora Adama D’Angelo said in a press release, “Our mission is to share and grow the world’s knowledge. We are building a high quality content platform and it is amazing to see all the people registering and contributing from other countries beyond the United States… We hope it will help increase the participation from even more people.” Before Quora, D’Angelo was the chief technology officer of Facebook from 2006-2008.

The company was founded in 2009. It's based out of Mountain View, California in the USA.

Quora Malayalam has received answers on the authenticity of images of Milky Way by an International Astronomy Olympiad participant, answers on investment ideas for starters and answers on the importance of spreading awareness about suicidal tendency among the youth, among others, said the company.
