Plan Commission to hold twitter conference on Gandhi Jayanti

NEW DELHI: Planning Commission will hold a twitter conference to discuss the life and message of Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his 144th birth anniversary on Wednesday.

Sam Pitroda, Chairman National Innovation Council and the Adviser to Prime Minister on Public Information Infrastructure to Improve Governance & Public Services will lead it from his Twitter handle @pitrodasam, an official release said.

"The twitter conference to be held between 7 PM and 8 PM tomorrow is open to everyone. The hash tag for the conference is #Gandhi," it said.

It is expected to be joined by Kartikeya Sarabhai, Trustee of Sabarmati Ashram, other Gandhians and several other people from world over.

The Prime Minister had recently launched a Gandhi Heritage Portal which is available at gandhiheritageportal.org.

The portal developed by the Sabarmati Ashram under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture hosts Gandhi's autobiography in 22 languages.
