An NRI portal dedicated to food sector, has decided to contribute one rupee each to an NGO each in both countries for every message it receives.

NEW DELHI: In a unique way to raise funds for underprivileged children in India and Pakistan, an NRI portal dedicated to food sector, has decided to contribute one rupee each to an NGO each in both countries for every message it receives on Independence Day celebrations.
The portal,, found this method to celebrate the 60th year of independence of both India and Pakistan by running a special web campaign where it is inviting people to leave friendship message to mark the occasion.
For each message left in the special goodwill message web campaign titled 'Say Something Nice', would donate a rupee each to Akanksha Foundation in India and an NGO in Pakistan, which is yet to be identified.
The NGOs would use the money to fund food requirements of less privileged children in the two countries, said in a statement. The organiser aims to get 10,000 messages by August 15.
The goodwill message campaign is part of the larger event 'Flavors Beyond Borders' event being organised by in association with Indo-America Arts Council (IAAC) and the South Asian Journalists Association.
The festival would culminate on August 14 in New York, where Indian and Pakistani communities would be invited, the release added.
