Online travel firm Cleartrip launches UAE operations

India's online travel company Cleartrip has announced the launch of UAE operations as part of a strategic move to explore new and dynamic markets

DUBAI: India's online travel company Cleartrip has announced the launch of UAE operations as part of a strategic move to explore new and dynamic markets.

With a full product offering, customised for the UAE market, Cleartrip has chosen the 'Arabian Travel Mart 2010' to announce its first foray outside the Indian online travel market.

With the launch, customers in the UAE have access to an online travel portal that allows them to book flights and hotels with up to date information.

Speaking about the launch, Hrush Bhatt founder and director (Product and Strategy) Cleartrip said, "With e-commerce in Dubai set to hit $36 billion by end of 2010, the UAE customer is demanding more choices in online travel and Cleartrip is launching a completely localised UAE product to meet this demand.

This is a mature, internet savvy market with over 60 per cent internet penetration. We believe that our best-of-breed products will revolutionise the way the UAE books travel online."

Cleartrip.ae has been localised for the UAE and offers competitive prices on hotels and flights; it is arguably the only online travel agency that offers global booking on low cost carriers like Air Arabia, Air India Express and Tiger Airways.
