Net Neutrality: Should the internet be free?

In response to the consultation paper on net neutrality floated by the telecom regulator, TRAI, netizens and application service providers have overwhelmingly supported an open and free Internet, urging that apps must not be brought under any licensing regime.

On the other hand, telecom service providers argue in favour of bringing over-the-top content players under the same checks as those imposed on TSPs in order to ensure national security.
