Monster India expands rural job portal to more states

NEW DELHI: Buoyed by good response in the initial phase, Monster India has extended services of its rural areas-focussed job portal -- rozgarduniya.com -- to four more states including Madhya Pradesh.

Till now, the portal service was limited to western Uttar Pradesh. The pilot phase was launched in the second half of 2009. The portal is a joint initiative of Monster.com and ITC e-Choupal, which targets rural population and is set up by the tobaccos-to-hospitality major ITC's agri business division.

The phase II expansion will be spread in 1,817 e-Choupals covering nearly 10,000 villages across four states-- UP, Maharashtra, Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh, Monster said in a statement today.

"We hope this initiative will contribute towards building a brighter tomorrow of the rural job seekers," MD Monster India, the Middle East and South East Asia Sanjay Modi said.

The initiative was launched with an objective to link rural youth to job opportunities in the Indian corporate sectors.

Rozgarduniya.com is available in English and Hindi only, Modi said.
