Microsoft to provide media platform for Rcom's IPTV service

Reliance Communications (RCom) and Microsoft announce a strategic partnership to deliver a personalised TV experience to consumers in India through RCom's IPTV service.

MUMBAI: Reliance Communications (RCom) and Microsoft on Monday announced a strategic partnership to deliver a personalised TV experience to consumers in India through RCom's IPTV service.

The service would be powered by Microsoft's media platforms.

The service would be launched this fiscal-end in Delhi and Mumbai.

The contract between the two players is estimated at 500 million dollars. Reliance Communications would spend another $500 million over the next few years depending on costumer feedback.
