MCA-21 portal crosses 1 lakh filings on one single day

NEW DELHI: The Corporate Affairs Ministry today said its e-governance portal MCA-21 has crossed one lakh filings on a single day, surpassing the previous best of 88,119 such filings.

As per a ministry's statement, the MCA-21 portal "crossed a significant milestone of 1,00,000 filings on one single day on October 26 2013". Prior to this the portal had recorded a high of 88,119 filings on November 21, 2012.

"This has been made possible by the efforts of the ministry (Corporate Affairs) in scaling up the server and hardware capacity of the portal so that the requirements of the peak filing period of October-November 2013 can be taken care of," the statement said.

MCA 21 is designed to fully automate all processes related to enforcement and compliance of the legal requirements under the Companies Act.

The portal is in the second cycle of its functioning since January, this year.

The portal's second phase is characterised by improved enhancements to the systems and functions including increase in the network bandwidth, hardware with updated technology and enhanced monitoring tools, among others, the ministry said.
