Lucknow police go online on Facebook

LUCKNOW: Lucknow Police has now launched its official Facebook page on the popular social networking site to reach out to the public.

SP (Traffic) Trans Gomti, Nitin Tiwari, launched the Facebook page last evening here.

"The page is aimed at serving the people and to redress their grievances online. Those having problems can reach the Lucknow Police through the site and after investigation, if necessary, FIR would be registered," Tiwari said.

Apart from having mobile and landline numbers of all the police stations and senior officers of the city, Tiwari said, people can also lodge complaint against erring police officers on the page.

The Facebook account is generating encouraging response from the public, he said.
