PUNE: Global cybersecurity company Kaspersky said on Tuesday it had appointed Dipesh Kaura as its new general manager in charge of the South Asia Region covering India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives.

Kaura will develop and implement business plans to ensure brand penetration, recall and revenue growth by exploring potential business avenues in the region and will be based out of Mumbai.

Prior to this, Kaura worked in senior leadership roles in companies like PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where he was Director, Cybersecurity Services, India, and at Gartner Research India.

“The cybersecurity landscape is evolving every second in the world and it is very interesting to see what the future looks like, especially with a team like Kaspersky …. I am excited to take Kaspersky to the next level in this region. I see immense opportunities ahead for the company as we get ready to execute a strong strategy for both B2B and B2C segments in the entire South Asia region,” he said.

Kaura has expertise in pre-sales, product management, positioning and implementation of business strategies to accomplish targets in large accounts and assigned territories, the company said in a statement.

Stephan Neumeier, Managing Director, Kaspersky (APAC), said, “We look forward to working with Dipesh and are excited to deploy his expertise to expand our business in the region. His experience of large account management and closing enterprise and BFSI deals will be great for us to explore the various opportunities that await us. He will help me (in) building the already existing team stronger and look at new growth objectives for Kaspersky.”

“With the current situation where many large cybersecurity companies are exiting the market, South Asia remains a priority region for Kaspersky and we are on a constant lookout for future partnerships to build and expand a healthy partner ecosystem to strengthen the industry,” he added.

Kaura completed his B.E in Electronics from Mumbai University and has an MBA from the Southern New Hampshire University.
