India ranks 2nd globally for mobile device threats: Kaspersky
MUMBAI: Even as the number of mobile users in India keeps increasing, cyber criminals may be targeting many of these users, said a report by Kaspersky lab.

According to the report India ranks a “frightening” second in the world for mobile device threats. Kaspersky lab is an international software security provider that is headquartered in Moscow.

According g to the report India also ranks high in the global ranking for threats that customers receive. Industry trackers say that as more and more people graduate to the smartphones the threats ranging from a malware attack to a proper criminal trying to hack in to the data would increase.

Going ahead, say industry trackers the mobile users need to take extra protection for their smart devices. This at a time when more and more people are using online financial tools for transactions including buying products, making bank transactions to booking cab rides through mobile wallets.

“The cyber criminals in the digital domain operates in much the same way as it does in the physical world: it starts as a speck of dust and eventually spreads at exponential rates,”said ltaf Halde, managing director , South Asia, Kaspersky Lab.
