PUNE: External affairs minister S Jaishankar said any debate about international trade has never been politically neutral, even less so now, while giving his inaugural speech at the Asia Economic Dialogue in a video message. While, Kotak Mahidra Bank managing director Uday Kotak said in the Two System Technology world of 5G, India will have to think hard if it wants to align with the western technology system wherein we also have our political alignment or the Chinese technology system, which will be good for our economy due to its speed, price and other advantages.

“Pulls and pressures of the international system are today most evident in the trade domain this very centrality underlines the extent of polarisation in what is largely perceived as inter-dependent existentce till recently. Linkages to non-trade issues has complicated the scenario,” said Jaishankar.

Uday Kotak said, “We now have a ‘ Two System Technology’ world; the western system and the Chinese system. In next couple of years most countries will have to make a choice between system of 5G and go down that path.”
