Idea slashes 3G/4G night data pack rates by up to 50%

KOLKATA: Idea Cellular, India’s No 3 carrier, slashed prices of 3G/4G night surfing data packs by upto 50% Tuesday, in a bid to make them more affordable.

Idea subscribers can now avail of 1GB of night data at Rs 125 for a month, enabling them to save upto 50% of their normal costs.

Idea also announced a unique `Day and Night’ twin pack which, offers 30% discount to customers compared to existing data packs, the company said in an official statement.

The `Day & Night Twin’ pack starts from a low Rs 115 for 500 MB (250 MB Day + 250 MB Night) per month and goes up to 40 GB (20GB Day + 20GB Night).

“Many customers, especially the working population, access internet at night. Acknowledging this trend, we’ve announced special Night Packs as well as the Day & Night Twin packs to offer subscribers an affordable and convenient option to access the internet,” said Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer at Idea Cellular.

He said the company expected subscribers to derive maximum benefit from the latest data rate cuts in accessing the internet at night without having to worry about exceeding data limits.

The night packs and Day & Night packs are available to all Idea subscribers across Idea 3G and 4G circles.
