HCL launches IoT centre with Microsoft

NEW DELHI: HCL Technologies has launched an Internet of Things (IoT) Incubation Center in partnership with Microsoft. The centre, which will be stationed at Redmond, Washington, USA, will leverage Microsoft Azure IoT Suite to accelerate enterprise IoT adoption. According to the company, it will build vertical solutions focused on areas of industrial and manufacturing, and life sciences and healthcare, with use in industrial automation, remote patient monitoring and fleet management, among others.

The ability to rapidly prototype and bring solutions to market is key to enterprise success in a hyper-innovative global environment,” said Sukamal Banerjee, executive vice president and head of IoT WoRKS Business Unit, HCL Technologies.

He said that industrial IoT is slated to be the next big productivity and revenue generation lever for enterprises worldwide. The centre combines HCL’s rich heritage and leadership in engineering and product lifecycle management, systems integration and infrastructure services with Microsoft’s leadership in IoT, the company said in a press release.

HCL is hoping the alliance will result in some innovative and actionable Industrial IoT solutions which are scalable, cost-effective and focused on user experience. “One of the most transformative trends affecting businesses today is the Internet of Things. Together with HCL, we’re enabling companies to accelerate IoT adoption with industry-specific solutions that deliver greater business insights, new revenue models and speed return on investment,” said Susan Hauser, corporate vice president, business and corporate responsibility at Microsoft.
