Google may block sensitive locations on maps

BANGALORE: Google is holding discussions with the government on the objections raised by the latter over the presence of maps and images of sensitive locations on Google Earth.
Prasad Ram, centre head, Google India, R&D said they are looking at how they would go about blocking the images that appear on Google Earth. Discussions between Google and the government are held in the backdrop of security concerns on the easy access to maps and images of the sensitive and vital locations.
Even President APJ Abdul Kalam had expressed concern over this and felt that the availability of these images could help the terrorist organisations.
