Goibibo.com hosts its first hackathon

BENGALURU : Goibibo.com, an online hotel aggregator is hosting its first hackathon - GoCode, on the HackerEarth platform to have apps built around themes such as itinerary planning, event planning, collaborative planning, exploring hotels and personalization “By opening up our platform and API’s for thousands of developers we are catalysing innovation and solutions in the travel space,” said Ashish Kashyap, founder & CEO IbiboGroup.

The hackathon, conducted in two phases, has seen over 4,500 developers participate in the online version. The 20 shortlisted participants will further refine and present their apps to a panel of judges in mid-October. Bengaluru-based HackerEarth has a platform that helps facilitate hackathons for different themes and corporates. Most recently it conducted the online Aadhar hackathon in June. “Technology has been enabling every facet of our lives. Technology, in the form of apps are not only convenient, but they also provide a lot of information for the user on the go,” Sachin Gupta, CEO and cofounder, HackerEarth.
