MUMBAI: Members of social networking portal MySpace are in for a surprise - for they will have exclusive access to the portal's 'MySpace Secret Shows' which makes its debut in India with a concert where the identity of the performer will be under wraps until the last moment.

The first "Secret Show" in India will be held in Mumbai May 29, said a press release of the organisers.

In tune with the global format, the show will be a free concert only for users registered with MySpace.

'MySpace Secret Shows' were launched in Britain in February 2006 with a performance by Scottish alternative rock band Primal Scream. Since then, the shows have enthralled music lovers by presenting some prominent names like U2, Lily Allen, and Pink, to name a few.

According to the statement, the "Secret Shows" franchise marks the beginning of an all-new dimension in India's independent and non-mainstream music segment. It aims at providing a live platform for young musicians to present alternative music genres, including rock, metal, folk, and Sufi.
