First e-magazine for industry and commerce launched

COIMBATORE: An e-magazine for industry and commerce has been launched in the city on Sunday.

'The Coimbatore Digest' is an e-magazine, with exclusive focus on industry, business, commerce and trade affairs of greater Coimbatore region, its Managing Editor, K Ramasubamanian said.

Claiming to be the first of its kind in Tamil Nadu and also 2-tier cities across the Country, the people could browse it at 'www.thecoimbatoredigest.in' Ramasubramanian said.

Launching the magazine, Tamil Nadu rural industries minister, Pongalur N Palanisamy said that this would be helpful for the budding industrialists and also to those, who wanted to invest in Coimbatore region, which was already becoming an Information Technology and Bio-technology hub.

CPI Lok Sabha MP, K Subbarayan asked the Centre to come out with a white paper on the details of closed industries across the country. It should also identify the reason for such closures, not only due to the labour unrest or mismanagement, but also other reasons, he said.

The City Mayor R Venkatachalam and heads of various industrial associations were present at the launch.
