Facebook to have match insights during World Cup
NEW DELHI: Facebook is seeking to connect with 100 million odd cricket fans by launching a number of initiatives during the World Cup, including providing insights into key matches and interviews with cricketers, commentators and players across teams. The social networking site will also try out on-air integrations with news partners.

The company is making special efforts to reach out to the 99 million of Facebook’s 112 million active users a month who access the site on their mobile phones.

“Apart from watching matches on television, fans will follow the action online and/or on their mobile devices. To cater to this demand, we are aspiring to become the world’s largest cricket stadium,” said a representative of Facebook India.
