MUMBAI: Yahoo’s former India head Neville Taraporewalla, who decided to call it quits last month, has decided to join Connecturf, previously called Mediaturf, the digital marketing and web solutions company as MD & CEO. V Ramani, the current CEO will take on the role of vice-chairmanship of the group.

Mr Taraporewalla, apart from taking on the mandate to build the Connecturf brand and its overall profitability, is also a significant stakeholder in the company along with Mr Ramani.

The company’s business units are Mediaturf, Knowledgeturf and Solutionturf. Mr Taraporewalla, who will be the operational in charge of the company will report to Ishan Raina, chairman and innovator of Connecturf as well as the board. “

While the digital and new media space is just about fledging itself as a medium, joining Connecturf also agreed with me as it ignites my entrepreneurial qualities and that element was very critical,” Mr Taraporewalla says. He has spent 10 years of his 20-year media career in the internet and new media space.

Connecturf’s shareholders also include, New York-based Havas advertising conglomerate, which also runs Euro RSCG in India, Sandeep Sin of E-Ventures, Microland, Havas’ media arm MPG and Ishan Raina, chairman of EuroRSCG India.

The company is also looking at an institutional strategic partner, who will invest to ensure scale and muscle in the market place , until recently, was the country manager of Yahoo! in India.
