eBay Inc, PayPal launch new centre

CHENNAI: Online auction site eBay Inc and PayPal on Monday announced the launch of a new Global Development Centre here.

The facility currently houses 1,000 persons and the companies plan to hire anywhere between 100 to 1,000 persons over the next two years, Scott Thompson, PayPal's Chief Technology Officer told reporters here today.

According to him, the company expects a revenue of $7.6 billion this year.
