Domain name count in India continues to witness stronger growth

Domain name count in India continues to witness a stronger growth compared to global markets with a 7.1% growth from December 31, 2016 (4.95 million) to December 31, 2017 (5.3 million), according to the ‘State of Domain Name Industry in India’ report from research firm Zinnov. Globally, there has been a 0.9 % growth in the same time period (329.3 million to 332.4 million). The report also says that .com captured a sizeable 57% share of the Indian domain name market in 2017.
