Covid-19: ACT announces free upgrade for work-from-home

ACT Fibernet on Tuesday announced free-of-cost work-from-home upgrade where plan speeds are increased up to 300 mbps, and with unlimited fair usage policy (FUP) for March in the wake of covid-19 outbreak.

BENGLAURU: ACT Fibernet on Tuesday announced free-of-cost work-from-home upgrade where plan speeds are increased up to 300 mbps, and with unlimited fair usage policy (FUP) for March in the wake of covid-19 outbreak.

The company said that it was announcing the free upgrade as many people are working from homek, and fibernet access was an essential service to manage lives and businesses. Consumers could opt for this facility through the ACT app on the mobile device.

ACT chief executive Bala Malladi said in a note to customers that the firm’s technical staff would be working from home and take calls for online trouble-shooting. ”Our backend data centre team is working round the clock, taking adequate precautions like rotations of employees. We have built a robust contingency plan and business continuity plan in dealing with any eventuality – including quarantining our data centres and other critical assets, should that exigency arise,” he said.
