Cable&Wireless to offer services directly to Indian customers

Global communications company Cable & Wireless today said it will offer its international bandwidth connect services directly to enterprise customers in India.

NEW DELHI: Global communications company Cable & Wireless today said it will offer its international bandwidth connect services directly to enterprise customers in India.

At present, Cable & Wireless is offering these services through its local partners in the country.

The new service would provide point to point connectivity for customers between sites in India and the US, the UK, Continental Europe and Asia to carry voice, data, video and any other form of digital transmission, the company said in a statement.

The firm got security clearance from the government for offering these services in January this year.

Targeted at carriers, Internet service providers (ISPs), application service providers (ASPs), content providers and MNCs, the international bandwidth connect service offers protection against multiple cable failures as this service is fully monitored and running on C&W's global network.

"Through this service, our regional customers will benefit directly from our international expertise and experience as well as our global transmission backbone," Cable & Wireless (Europe, Asia and the US) Managing Director Sunanda Das said.
