Beware! Your Google Talk messages may reach the wrong recipients

NEW DELHI: Google Talk users around the world on Thursday witnessed an unusual occurrence with their chat messages reaching the wrong recipients. An apparent bug in GTalk has caused a chaos with users complaining of the malfunction affecting the reliability of where their messages might end up reaching!

In a nutshell, be careful! Any message cursing your boss might just end up popping on his GTalk window! So far, there seems no pattern to whom the message is being delivered to by mistake. Also, it is not clear how many users have been affected by the bug.

Google is investigating the issue and has promised to keep users informed of the latest updates. Accordind to the latest update on the Google Talk Apps dashboard," The issue has been resolved and all services are gradually returning to normal. We will update when full service is restored."

Earlier Google posted, "We're investigating reports of an issue with Google Talk."

Earlier this week, Google launched an archive of the world's constitutions Monday in a new online initiative designed to help countries emerging from conflicts or political crises.

Launching the new site - www.constituteproject.org - in New York, Google officials said the aim was to help people drafting constitutions to see what other countries have done in the past.

We wanted to take the physical constitutions and we wanted to have them organised online, make them universally available online and make them useful for all the different governments going through a constitutional process," Google Ideas director Jared Cohen said.

"These constitutions and government documents represent an important opportunity for these countries," he added.

The site was drawn up with the assistance of academics associated with the Comparative Constitutions Project(CCP).
