SEATTLE: Web retailer Amazon.com has said that nearly 1.6 million people worldwide have pre-ordered "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," the seventh and final volume in the boy wizard series.
That is up from 1.5 million people who signed up in advance for a copy of the sixth book, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."
In the United States, Amazon.com said yesterday it has logged more than 1 million pre-orders, breaking the site-wide record of 919,000 total pre-orders set by previous installment.
