Airtel rolls out 4G network capacity in Bangalore

BANGALORE: Bharti Airtel on Monday rolled out its 4G services in Bangalore in the 1800 MHz spectrum band using FD LTE technology that makes it operate there in dual spectrum bands of 2300 MHz and 1800 MHz.

Commenting on the launch, C Surendran, chief executive officer – Karnataka, Bharti Airtel, said, “Given the explosive growth of mobile data services and content consumed on mobiles, the addition of a second 4G carrier will surely add to the experience of the customers on our network. We remain committed to the digital vision of the state.”

In November 2015, Airtel commenced the implementation of its network transformation program - Project Leap. With a national investment of Rs 60,000 crore over the next three years, Airtel’s "Project Leap" is a company initiative aimed at perceptibly improving its network quality.
