Airtel acquires Aircel's 4G airwaves in Andhra Pradesh
With the latest announcement, the mobile carrier has completed the deal of acquiring 4G airwaves in the 2300 Mhz band from Aircel in all eight circles.

With the latest announcement, the mobile carrier has completed the deal of acquiring 4G airwaves in the 2300 Mhz band from Aircel in all eight circles – Tamil Nadu (including Chennai), Bihar, J&K, West Bengal, Assam, North East, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
Back in April, Bharti Airtel had announced it would buy Aircel’s 4G spectrum in eight circles for Rs 3,500 crore through a trading deal, in its bid to become a pan-India 4G player before Reliance Jio Infocomm’s 4G launch.
In a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday, India’s largest telecom company said “the proposed transaction has been successfully concluded for the Andhra Pradesh circle following receipt of all necessary approvals and after satisfying all conditions, including those in the spectrum trading guidelines”.
The 4G airwaves are valid till September 20, 2030.
