After Google's move to launch flight status in India, Twitter has launched a similar service on its platform with Jet Airways to provide flight status and fare updates to users. The microblogging site is working hard on making it a more useful platform, especially in emerging markets like India, as it strives to please its Wall Street investors.

Jet Airways is using Twitter application programmers interface (APIs) to integrate flight information on to the site. Users can Tweet to the airlines and get flight status and low fares through Twitter.

Recently, Google launched its flight search tool in India. The move is expected to slowly chip away some revenues from online travel agencies which have traditionally dominated flight search and bookings.
