After Facebook, Google movie on the way

The co-founders of Google are set to get the 'Hollywood treatment' with a feature film on the way.

LONDON: The co-founders of Google are set to get the 'Hollywood treatment' with a feature film on the way.

According to Deadline Hollywood, the entertainment industry blog, the film will be based on the Ken Auletta book 'Googled: The End of the World As We Know It' and will tell the story of the Google founders.

"It's about these two young guys who created a company that changed the world and how the world in turn changed them," the Telegraph quoted Michael London, the film's producer, as saying.

"The heart of the movie is their wonderful edict: don't be evil."

"At a certain point in the evolution of a company so big and powerful, there are a million challenges to that mandate."

"Can you stay true to principles like that as you become as rich and powerful as that company has become?" he added.

Page and Brin founded Google while they were PhD students at Stanford University in the 1990s. They are now billionaires. No actors have yet been cast to play them.

It follows the soon-to-be-released 'The Social Network', directed by David Fincher, which chronicles the founding of Facebook, the social networking website.

'The Social Network' has been adapted from Ben Mezrich's 2009 book "The Accidental Billionaires."
