NEW DELHI: Facebook stated that during the 19th March T20 world cup matches between India and Pakistan's men’s and women’s teams, Facebook witnessed 22 million interactions with 8.2 million unique Facebook users showcasing support for their teams.

The most mentioned cricketers were India’s Virat Kohli and Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi on the social networking platform and the most mentioned players from the women’s match were India’s Mithali Raj and Pakistan’s Sana Mir.

Over 10 celebrities added Facebook's profile frame feature to their profile pictures including Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan.

Celebrities who stepped up action with their selfies at the game and around the game included Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan.

Pakistan cricketers who changed their profile pictures and posted messages linked to matches included Mariana Iqbal, Shan Masood, and Maya Ali.

Facebook stated Facebook Live was used for live streaming match related content featuring cricketers like MS Dhoni and Shoaib Malik.
