TCS’ HyperVault to build 1 GW AI data centre campus in Hyderabad with Rs 70,000 cr investment

TCS subsidiary HyperVault has announced it will build a 1 GW AI data centre campus in Hyderabad, at an investment of Rs 70,000 crore marking one of India’s largest planned investments in AI infrastructure.

The company has secured 264 acres of land in Hyderabad’s Future City to develop a large-scale AI data centre campus, which will cater to frontier AI companies and hyperscalers, supporting high-density GPU deployments for AI training, inference and advanced computing workloads. The development will be undertaken in phases based on customer demand and technology requirements.

At full build-out, the campus is expected to be among India’s largest and most advanced AI infrastructure campuses, HyperVault said. It will incorporate liquid-cooled compute infrastructure, green energy and water-neutral design principles.


The project is also expected to create several thousand direct and indirect jobs and drive demand across power, cooling, networking, construction, engineering and data-centre operations.

TCS CEO and MD K Krithivasan said the project advances the company’s “Infrastructure-to-Intelligence” strategy by combining AI-ready infrastructure with its cloud, engineering, enterprise transformation and AI capabilities.

“AI is a civilisational shift and will change everything we do today,” Krithivasan said, adding that Hyderabad offers the scale, talent and ecosystem required to serve global customers.

Addressing the media, Krithivasan said the data centre will be operational in 18-24 month from breaking ground. In response, CM Revanth Reddy asked TCS to inaugurate the data centre on June 2, 2028, assuring all required sanctions to speed up the process.

The project follows a conversation between Reddy and Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran at Davos in January this year, Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said.

The IT Minister said the data centre will create direct & indirect employment of up to 7,000.

The campus will be developed as part of Telangana’s broader push to position the state as a strategic hub for AI and advanced digital infrastructure.
