India's largest IT services firm Tata Consultancy Services should build on its success as a transformation partner for its clients and take new approaches in using technology to help clients' business agendas, CEO Rajesh Gopinathan said.

He was addressing the company's employees in his New Year note.

"Our clients acknowledge and love us for our purposeful approach, contextual knowledge, research and innovation, technology and execution excellence, and above all our client-centricity," he wrote in his new year message to employees. "At this critical juncture in our story, we have an opportunity to reframe our approach in a way that is even more relevant and meaningful to all our clients and stakeholders, and to express it confidently and with pride."

"We need to continue to engage confidently with many other business stakeholders beyond our traditional focus on technology leaders. In doing so we will start a new conversation that is focused on business agendas that underpin and shape our clients’ technology agendas," said Gopinathan.
