TCS inks deal with Denmark’s Salling Group to drive digital transformation, AI-led cloud migration

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Monday said it has entered into a strategic partnership with Denmark-based retailer Salling Group to drive digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled cloud migration.

The financial and other details of the deal were not disclosed.

“The collaboration will cover Salling Group’s 2,100 stores, brands, and 68,000 employees across Denmark, Poland, Germany, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia, including BR, a nationwide toy store chain; franchise quick-service restaurants Carl’s Jr. and Starbucks; and grocers føtex, Bilka, Netto, and RIMI Baltic,” TCS said in a statement.


As part of the partnership, TCS will help the Salling Group’s cloud adoption journey and subsequently stabilise the operations with the aim of driving more agility, scalability, and sustainability. Additionally, TCS will support the retail group’s digital transformation, focussing on enhancing the e-commerce platform to be more responsive to the evolving consumer demands.

The Tata subsidiary has had a presence in Denmark for over three decades. Headquartered in Mumbai, TCS currently has over 20,000 employees—out of its nearly 6.08 lakh strong workforce—working with corporate clients in the Nordic countries, driving growth and transformation for top multinationals in sectors such as banking, financial services, insurance, telecom, and hi-tech.

The European market, including the UK, accounted for 31.1% of the IT services giant’s revenue share, growing at 4% during the year.
