Mindtree opens second Pune facility

Mumbai: Information technology services company Mindtree said on Friday that it has opened its second facility in Pune with the capacity to accommodate more than 350 professionals. This is in addition to its Hinjawadi facility that can house 1,300 associates.

Located at ICC (International Convention Center) Tech Park, the new facility measures 43,000sq.ft. Mindtree began operations in Pune — the company’s second location in India — in 2009 with a more than 200,000-sq.ft. facility in Hinjawadi.

The company stated that on the back of rising global demand for its digital transformation services, it has grown rapidly in Pune over the last few years and today employs more than 3,700 professionals in the city with more than a third of its workforce consisting of women professionals.


In the last year alone, despite the pandemic, the company’s Pune headcount has grown by as much as 2.5 times. Mindtree’s Pune centre is now the company’s third-largest globally in terms of headcount. As of Q3, the company’s headcount stood at 31,959.

From Pune, Mindtree provides digital transformation services to some of the world’s largest communications, media, technology, retail, CPG, manufacturing, banking, financial services, insurance, travel, transportation, hospitality, and healthcare companies in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The centre has extensive capabilities in a wide range of areas, including customer experience transformation, enterprise IT transformation, automation, digital engineering, Salesforce, digital integration and process automation, cloud, data modernization, DataOps, cybersecurity, and so on.

The L&T Group company reported a growth of more than 40% in its top 20 clients in the past year.
