The deal, which involves developing network software and applications, is one of LTTS' largest wins in the telecom space and comes at a time when the company is looking to deepen its presence in the sector.
LTTS has been on a steady deal streak in recent quarters, and this marks its fourth deal worth over $50 million in the last year. While it continues to face pressure in some verticals, especially automotive, such strategic deals are expected to rebalance its growth.
The mid-tier engineering and technology services reported a marginal rise of 0.7% year-on-year (YoY) in net profit at Rs 315.7 crore in the first quarter of FY26 supported by a favourable tax return despite an increase in employee and other expenses. The Mumbai-based Larsen & Toubro (L&T) subsidiary's net profit rose 1.5% from Rs 311.1 crore in March quarter.
The agreement includes R&D lab integration, new product development, and functionality testing for the client’s network automation platforms. LTTS will also set up a dedicated delivery center in the US as part of the engagement.
This deal is especially critical for LTTS as it continues to diversify its portfolio beyond the mobility segment, which has been facing headwinds due to weak demand and global macro uncertainty.
The new delivery center in the US also aligns with a broader trend of engineering service firms building nearshore capabilities to get closer to key clients and meet their regulatory and turnaround time expectations.
