L&T Technology Services (LTTS) has bagged a $50 million deal from North American telecommunications and network provider to provide product integration services and secure LTE and 5G private networks across industries for newer business opportunities.

The multi-year agreement will help mid-sized player LTTS boost its telecom segment by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and automation, LTTS said in a statement.

“Additionally, the companies aim to offer secure LTE and 5G private networks across industries, unlocking new opportunities and enabling future-ready operations. The partnership will address current market demands while positioning itself for upcoming 5G advancements under 3GPP standards,” it added.

Amit Chadha, CEO & managing director at LTTS, said, "This strategic engagement represents a significant milestone for LTTS, marking our first sizable breakthrough in global markets by leveraging the deep expertise of our Smart World & Communication (SWC) division in managing communication networks.”

Chadha added the firm will integrate a GLOCAL services model with automation and AI-driven frameworks to deliver value and reliability to the telecom customer. “This will help us elevate our partnership with the client further,” he said.

Mid-tier IT firms are grabbing larger deals with the growing pace of AI and digital transformation projects.

In FY24, LTTS had closed one of its large deals worth $100 million (Rs 800 crore) from Maharashtra State Cyber Department.

Last month, the Gujarat-headquartered software services provider won a project from Colorado Smart Cities Alliance (CSCA) to build smart city development projects across the state of Colorado.

In November, LTTS also acquired California-based Intelliswift Software along with its Indian arm for $110 million to enhance LTTS' AI and software capabilities in the digital engineering suite for global clients.
