S. B. Ravi Pandit, founder and chairman of automotive and mobility software engineering company KPIT Technologies, passed away on Friday morning (May 8), in Pune, the company said in an exchange filing.

Pandit founded KPIT in 1990, transforming it from a small IT services outfit into a global technology company focused on automotive software, electrification, and mobility solutions across 15 countries.

Under his leadership, KPIT Technologies became a key partner to global automotive majors, working on next-generation technologies such as autonomous driving, electric vehicles, and software-defined vehicles.


KPIT Technologies differentiates itself from traditional IT outsourcing companies by focusing on high-value projects in the mobility sphere.
