IT services major HCLTech and German chemicals and biotechnology company Wacker Chemie AG have established a global capability centre (GCC) in Pune.

The new centre is designed to support Wacker's engineering, IT, and digital transformation initiatives while providing a "flexible, resilient, and future-ready delivery foundation," HCLTech said in a regulatory filing.

The collaboration marks an expansion of the existing strategic partnership between the two entities. HCLTech will leverage its expertise in DevSecOps and automation to help Wacker build a high-performing team, strengthen governance and accelerate digital modernisation.

"The Global Capability Centre is an important step in strengthening our global delivery and digital execution capabilities. HCLTech's experience in building and scaling such centres allows us to move forward with a model that supports agility, governance and long-term growth," said Fabian Seibold, Director, WACKER Excellence Hub, Pune.

Munich-headquartered Wacker Chemie is a manufacturer of speciality chemical products with a global network of 27 production sites. The company reported annual sales of approximately 5.5 billion euros in the fiscal year 2025. It employs over 16,000 people worldwide.
