IT services major HCL Technologies will invest Rs 3,500 crore to establish AI data centers, with the potential to scale to 50 MW capacity, the company said in a statement on Monday.

The proposed investment will be made through the company’s new subsidiary and step-down subsidiaries that will be set up for this business, the statement read.

“The convergence of AI-led demand, supply constraints and push for digital sovereignty presents a compelling opportunity for us to emerge as a full-stack AI technology solutions provider. Our entry into the AI data center space positions us to capture the full value of this opportunity, as the industry transitions from physical infrastructure to higher-value, AI-ready solutions," CEO C Vijayakumar said in a prepared statement.

This came alongside the announcement of the IT company's June quarter result. HCLTech posted over 20% year-on-year rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 4624 crore, and retained its revenue growth guidance at 1-4% for FY27.
