HCLTech corporate VP Sukamal Banerjee joins Xoriant as CEO

Sukamal Banerjee has been appointed as CEO of Xoriant, a Silicon Valley-based digital engineering company.

He is currently corporate vice president of global engineering business at HCLTech and has resigned from the company.

Banerjee has worked with HCLTech for more than 27-years and most recently led Digital Engineering business across Technology Semiconductor and Telecom markets and Global Head of IoT WoRKS.


Earlier this year, Xoriant was acquired by investment firm ChrysCapital soon after former Larsen & Toubro Infotech chief executive Sanjay Jalona joined the firm as its operating partner.

The development comes at a time when peer Infosys has also reported two top-level exits in the past few weeks. Former president and COO Ravi Kumar S resigned after working at the information technology firm for almost 20 years.

He was later appointed as CEO and a member of the Board of Cognizant.

Later, Mohit Joshi joined as CEO & MD of Tech Mahindra. Joshi resigned as president of Infosys after a 22-year stint at the country’s second largest IT firm. At Tech Mahindra, he will replace CP Gurnani, who is set to retire in December.

Banerjee holds a bachelors in mechanical engineering and MBA in finance & strategy.
