HCA Healthcare opens first GCC in India; plans to invest $75 million
The US-based hospital operator will expand its workforce by 3,000 people by the end of 2026. US-based firms account for nearly 60% of the GCCs in India.

Located in HITEC City, the GCC will help drive innovation and operational excellence across HCA Healthcare’s operations, it said in a release. The company also plans to expand its workforce by hiring 3,000 people by the end of 2026, recruiting across multiple lines of business, including IT, supply chain, procurement, human resources, finance, and accounting.
The Hyderabad centre is expected to play a critical role in the company’s patient care services across its operations in the United States and the United Kingdom, spanning over 192 hospitals and 2,500 ambulatory sites of care.
Telangana IT and industries minister D Sridhar Babu inaugurated the facility in the presence of Emily Duncan, senior vice president, global capability network, HCA Healthcare, and Atul Kapoor, vice president and Hyderabad centre head, HCA Healthcare - India.
The company joins a long list of US-based companies to open its GCC in India. US-based firms account for nearly 60% of the centres in the country. Additionally, more than half of the healthcare and life sciences-based GCCs in India are US-based, employing over 300,000 professionals, according to data from consulting firm ANSR.
