Every traditional project looking at AI infusion now: Wipro

Agentic artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions are being incorporated in every engagement and project now at Wipro, as clients demand the efficiency it brings in, said Sandhya Arun, chief technology officer of the country’s fourth-largest IT services firm.

With agentic AI being the latest disruption in the $280 billion industry, clients are on the lookout to save manual efforts using AI-based solutions. “Two years ago, the use of AI was very experimental. Now, all our clients, who are mostly global enterprises, are very clear that AI is essential to stay competitive,” she added.

The company is headed towards outcome-based pricing for agentic solutions, beyond just the agentic pricing models for their services, said Arun at the company’s ‘Innovation Network’ roundtable in Bengaluru on Thursday.


The Wipro Innovation Network focuses on five strategic frontier technology themes: agentic AI, robotics with embodied AI, quantum computing, digital ledger technology and quantum-safe cyber resilience. It will bring together Wipro’s extensive innovation ecosystem, including the Innovation Labs, the Partner Labs, Wipro Ventures, its crowdsourcing platform Topcoder, and alliances with leading academic and research institutions.

The enterprise also involves the efforts of startups that are part of Wipro Ventures and over a million coders (as part of its Topcoder platform).
