US-based technology services company Everforth sees India's fast-evolving global capability centre (GCC) ecosystem and rising demand for AI-led digital engineering services as key growth drivers as it expands its presence in the country.

Formerly known as ASGN, the company rebranded as Everforth this year and appointed Sangita Singh as president for India and international operations in February to drive the expansion of its offshore delivery and digital engineering capabilities.

“It's the inevitable trend that we've seen that our clients are more and more leveraging India for meeting their technology needs, be it advanced engineering, innovation, or even application maintenance at the lower end of the software development lifecycle. So for us, India serves multiple purposes,” Shiv Iyer, president at Everforth, told ET.

“Our Fortune 500 clients in the US were wanting us not only to serve them from India, but also help them turn some of their operations in India into powerhouses for innovation and AI, versus being a cost arbitrage entity.” Iyer said.

The company completed its $290 million acquisition of Chicago-based digital services company Quinnox in March.

“The acquisition bought right away a footprint of approximately 1,500 to 2,000 engineers in India, with advanced, complex application modernisation, digital engineering integration work for enterprise-level Fortune 500 clients. That was sort of one side of the coin,” Iyer said, adding that the rapid growth of GCCs in India, viewed through an AI-first lens, represented the other.

Iyer said AI is changing the relationship between headcount growth and revenue. Earlier, companies typically needed to increase headcount by at least 10% to deliver 7% revenue growth. With AI, however, revenue can grow with a much smaller increase in workforce. Unencumbered by legacy operations, Everforth is now looking to clients' maturing GCCs as a key growth lever.

As the company scales its international operations, India has emerged as a natural choice because of its large market and deep technology talent pool.

“We believe the India opportunity aligns closely with the strategic evolution reflected in our rebrand to Everforth. The rebrand represents more than a change in identity as it reflects our continued transformation into a unified technology and digital engineering partner,” Iyer said.

He added that the shift is particularly evident in India, where technology investments are increasingly being evaluated through the lens of productivity, operational efficiency and business impact.
