CUET-UG exam hit by delay after TCS technical glitch
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Saturday said a “brief technical issue” caused a delay of about two hours in the morning shift of the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses (CUET-UG), adding that the issue had been resolved and the examination had resumed.

“A brief technical issue caused a delay of around two hours in the CUET-UG examination in the morning shift today. The issue was promptly identified and resolved by our technical teams and the examination has since resumed without any impact to the sanctity of the exam,” K Krithivasan, CEO and managing director of TCS, said in a statement.

"We regret the inconvenience. Our teams are actively monitoring all systems. We remain committed to working closely with NTA (National Testing Agency) to ensure seamless conduct of the computer-based tests,” he added.

The Common University Entrance Test is conducted by the NTA for admissions to undergraduate programmes across central and participating universities. The examination is conducted in computer-based mode at centres across India.

Friday’s disruption comes amid continuing scrutiny of the conduct of competitive examinations in the country, following uproar over the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) paper leaks earlier in the month.

The NTA on Friday said the morning shift of the CUET-UG was delayed at some centres because of a technical issue, with the disruption affecting the start of the computer-based examination by around two hours. The examination was later resumed after the issue was resolved, allowing full compensatory time and revising the afternoon session timing.
