Software services continue to be in demand amid the pandemic, with more than 50% of all new IT jobs in November coming up in Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi.

Companies are looking to hire IT professionals who have a knowledge of SAP, Node.js and communication technology, according to data from SCIKEY Market Network, a digital marketplace for jobs, work and business solutions. Project managers, software developers and testers, consultants and digital marketing leads are much in demand, with the IT sector itself is looking to hire a bulk of them—55%, 65%, 60%, 33% and 30%, respectively—across India.

The project manager role is seeing the highest demand from Bengaluru (30%), followed by Delhi-NCR (15%) and Pune (13%). Demand for project managers was the highest in the IT sector at 55%, followed by construction (6%), recruitment (5%) and banking (3%).

Developers are in peak demand in Bengaluru as well—65% of the jobs are in the IT sector, followed by internet/e-commerce, recruitment and banking.

Digital marketers too are in vogue, what with companies looking to ramp up digital presence due to the spike in time spent online. Bengaluru (28%), again, is looking to hire a significant chunk of them, followed by Delhi-NCR (26%), Mumbai (14%) and Hyderabad. The demand is coming from IT companies, BPOs, advertising agencies and staffing firms.

“The IT sector remains one of the least affected across the globe since it’s been playing a major role in digital transformation amid the pandemic with companies adopting technology and hybrid working models,” Karujit Kumar Dhir, co-founder at SCIKEY Market Network said.
