Zenith launches laptops at sub Rs 25K price
The company launched three models of its laptop range - Zenith Admirale, Director and Presidio - priced in a range of Rs 24,990 to Rs 28,490.

NEW DELHI: After the successful run of its affordable desktop computers, Zenith Computers on Wednesday launched its range of laptops at a starting price of Rs 24,990, targeted at both home and corporate customers.
The company's new laptops are powered by Intel Dual Core processors and would run on genuine Microsoft Windows Vista Starter Basic operating system.
"The prices of our laptops are realistic and we have not compromised on anything. The consumer gets genuine softwares with a genuine product at a price which is at a discount of over 20 per cent from those existing in the market," Zenith Computers Chairman and Managing Director Raj Saraf told reporters.
He said the company did not intend to make the cheapest laptop but wanted to provide an affordable product integrating everything that a user needs.
The company launched three models of its laptop range - Zenith Admirale, Director and Presidio - priced in a range of Rs 24,990 to Rs 28,490.
Zenith would offer laptops at its over 1,000 authorised dealers spread across India and has also introduced services like on-site warranty and 24X7 service for corporate clients.
The users can also upgrade their softwares and hardwares as per their need at a cost differential for instance a laptop can be upgraded to Windows Vista Home Basic at an additional cost of Rs 1,500 or Vista Home Premium for Rs 2,000.
"Affordability plays a key role for any buyer and if laptop penetration has to be improved, it has to be improved keeping in mind affordability," Microsoft India Managing Director Neelam Dhawan said.
The company would soon launch its laptop series in the international market at a sub 500 dollar price.
